Three Key West men were sentenced Wednesday to federal prison for stealing guns from a recreational vehicle on Stock Island last year.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Miami says District Court Judge Lawrence King sentenced William Ray, 45, to 15 years. Amado Cardenas, 47, got 14.2 years. Jermaine Roberts, 34, received 9.2 years.
All had previously pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Patrick Stickney, 43, also of Key West, who had pleaded to the same thing, is scheduled for sentencing Feb. 19.
According to an indictment handed down by a federal grand jury in April 2013, all conspired to obtain, possess and sell the guns, including a Marlin .444-caliber rifle, Marlin .44-magnum caliber rifle, Marlin .45-70-caliber rifle, Marlin .450-caliber rifle, Ruger .22-caliber rifle, Browning .338-caliber rifle and Mossberg shotgun. They also had 835 rounds of ammunition.
They were arrested with the use of a confidential informant. The Monroe County Sheriff's Office and U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms participated in the arrests.
