More than 31 percent of Monroe County registered voters have already cast their ballots.
And now, voters have more time to vote early: Tuesday, Gov. Charlie Crist issued an executive order extending early-voting hours. In the Keys, they’re from to 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. They had been from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
At the close of business Monday, 9,205 out of 14,044 absentee ballots mailed out had been returned and 6,395 people had voted at one of the county's five early-voting sites. Many say they are doing so to avoid expected lines on Nov. 4.
That's a combined 15,600 ballots already in the can. The Keys have 50,149 registered voters.
Early voting continues through Saturday. You can vote at any of the following sites no matter what your normal polling location is; bring a photo ID.
