Rescue workers were on the scene early Saturday afternoon of a traffic fatality at the Snake Creek Bridge in Islamorada. The Florida Highway Patrol identified the deceased as Debra C. Antonello, 58, from Davie, Fla.

The FHP and Monroe County Sheriff's Office say the head-on crash happened about 1 p.m. around mile marker 86 of U.S. 1. There was a full roadblock for an extended time; the road fully opened by 3:20 p.m.

Still, there were backups for miles in each direction because so many tourists are in the Keys for the holiday weekend.

Details will be forthcoming as they are available.
