The South Florida weather ‘rollercoaster’ could bring record heat this week

Tuesday should hit the upper-80s with spotty showers — and then “the heat is on” Wednesday through the weekend, said CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez from her home. “Record highs possible.”

NBC6 meteorologist Adam Berg says South Florida is in “for a roller coaster ride.”

That’s because it will be “decent today,” he said. “Then downright hot Wednesday through Friday. Cooler Saturday then warmer Sunday and Monday. Mother nature can’t decide!”

Temperatures could reach into the 90s Thursday and Friday, according to The Weather Channel, which forecasts 91 degrees those days.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, unsettled weather could set in around Sunday into the start of the next stay-at-home workweek.

But nothing too extreme about the unsettled bit — just a 20% rain chance later in the week. Mostly dry and hot in the Florida Keys with a slight chance of thunderstorms over the weekend.

Lows at night in South Florida and the Keys will be in the upper-70s.

However. there are strong rip tides in Palm Beach Tuesday and a moderate risk at Miami-Dade and Broward beaches.
