A Miami-Dade County man wanted for attempted murder and armed burglary in Hialeah was nabbed Thursday in an engine compartment of a boat near Geiger Key around mile marker 11.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says Ernesto Herrada-Cordova, 25, was planning to flee to Cuba today but was caught after the agency received a tip about his whereabouts.
Deputy Becky Herrin said her agency received a "be on the lookout" message for Herrada-Cordova Thursday morning. That "information indicated he was very aggressive and dangerous," she said. He was found around 12:30 p.m. near the Shark Key boat ramp and turned over to the U.S. Marshal's Service.
He apparently stabbed two women Wednesday night.
