Thieves take $1,600 worth of razors

Three adults and a child worked together to steal $1,600 worth of shaving razors from drug stores this month, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

The Walgreens on Big Pine Key last week reported a theft occurred April 18, the same day a CVS Pharmacy in Key Largo did, said Deputy Becky Herrin.

Surveillance photos from the Big Pine store show two men, a woman and a boy involved in the caper, Herrin said, distracting employees while the man and child head for the locked razor case.

Walgreens lost $1,100 worth of Gillette Fusion razor blades from its Big Pine store while almost $500 worth of razors were taken from a CVS at mile marker 99.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Diane Mimosa at (305) 745-3184.
