Around mile marker 110 on the 18-Mile Stretch, a little north of the Jewfish Creek Bridge, the road curves and reveals a beautiful view of an ocean flat. Very often there are a few boats in the shallow water with people enjoying themselves in the water. Beautiful scene.
The problem is, it creates a tremendous traffic headache, as rubberneckers slow down to watch the scene, causing very long traffic delays in both directions. It happens on weekends as well as weekdays.
I have a simple suggestion for the state Department of Transportation: Plant bushes, shrubs or trees along the fence in that area. I am pretty certain that the traffic problem will disappear.
