One of the most scenic drives in the world is in South Florida, travel guide says

If you have driven to Key West - and if you live in Miami, you almost certainly have at some point - you’ve driven on one of the most scenic drives in the world.

According to global travel website Big 7 Travel, the Overseas Highway is one of the 50 most scenic drives in the world.

We knew it was a great idea to drive to Key West (even before Roadtrippers website just told us the best attractions to see once we got there). Here’s what Big 7 Travel had to say about the spectacular drive with the best oceanfront views:

“125 miles of US Route 1 runs over turquoise blue waters through the Florida Keys. This epic road links all of the keys together, making it perfect for island hopping and getting to know the Florida Caribbean better. Load up the car and hit one of the most unique and scenic roads in the United States.”

The Overseas Highway came in at no. 50 on the list, but it’s hard to argue with the other 49 drives. There are 13 other Best scenic drives in the United States listed, including historic Route 66, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Denali Highway in Alaska and Hawaii’s Hana Highway.

The no. 1 most scenic drive was Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, which includes the Cliffs of Moher and Killary Harbour.
